Here are five productive things to do after you wake up to start your day off well:
1. Prayer, Mindful Breathing or Meditation:
A daily morning prayer is an incredible way to start each day. You do not know what you may encounter that day. Having positive and memorable interactions is better than having negative ones which can ruin your day. Pray, asking God to guide your path and, more specifically, your thoughts, words and actions throughout the day. Pray that you stay calm in all situations and your mind remains centred.
You can also spend a few minutes practising deep breathing or meditation to reduce stress and centre your mind before starting your day.
2. Hydrate:
Drinking a glass of water rehydrates your body after several hours of sleep and kick-starts your metabolism.
People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from signs of ageing like scars, wrinkles, and soft lines compared to those who drink small amounts of water. It keeps your skin fresh and keeps you glowing.
Water also improves your state of mind and helps your brain function.
3. Stretch or Exercise:
Stretching or a short workout helps to increase blood flow, improve flexibility, and energize you for the day.
Jumping jacks are a good example of an exercise that you can try to start off your morning. Other examples are strength exercises like push-ups and squats and cardiovascular exercises, like skipping, walking or running. Don’t forget to begin with a warm-up, stretch to cool down when you’re done, and drink lots of water.
4. Plan Your Day:
Review your tasks and priorities for the day. For example, if you are a student you need to make sure you review your timetable for the day and the right books and materials are packed and ready to go.
Planning how your day will go helps you stay focused and organized.
5. Eat a Healthy Breakfast:
A nutritious breakfast provides you with essential energy and nutrients to fuel your body and brain. And drink even more water.
