The JAMB Matriculation List (also called National Matriculation List) is the official confirmation by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board that:
- Your admission was processed through the JAMB CAPS system,
- Your admission details, O’level result, admission letter & result slip are recognised by JAMB,
- You are eligible for things like NYSC mobilisation, graduation clearance, scholarship applications, etc.
👉 If your name doesn’t appear, JAMB considers the admission illegitimate — even if your school accepted you.
Suggested addition for clarity:
This guide is for students who have been offered admission via JAMB CAPS but haven’t yet seen their name on the Matriculation List.
It’s relevant before university registration, during the first semester, and before NYSC mobilisation, ensuring your admission is fully recognised.
Common Reasons Your Name Isn’t on the Matriculation List:
1. You Haven’t Accepted the Admission on JAMB CAPS:
If you didn’t click “Accept” on the CAPS portal after admission is offered, JAMB will not process your admission.
What to do:
- Log in to JAMB eFacility → Check Admission Status → Access My CAPS → click Accept if available.
2. You Didn’t Print Your JAMB Admission Letter and/or Result Slip:
JAMB requires both documents to confirm your admission. Simply accepting on CAPS isn’t enough.
What to do:
- Log in to JAMB eFacility.
- Pay and print:
- Admission Letter
- UTME/DE Result Slip
- Then check the Matriculation List again.
3. Your Institution Did Not Submit Your Details to JAMB:
Even after you accept admission and print documents, if your school hasn’t forwarded your data, JAMB can’t list you — and some schools take weeks before uploading lists.
What to do:
- Visit the Admission Office / Academic Affairs Office.
- Confirm if your details (name, course, year, mode of entry) were sent to JAMB.
- If not, remind them to upload your matriculation list.
4. Your O’level Result Isn’t Uploaded or Verified:
If JAMB can’t find a verified O’level result on your portal, they won’t include your name.
What to do:
- Log in to JAMB CAPS → My O’level.
- If missing, visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre to upload it.
5. Name or Data Mismatch:
If your name (or date of birth) on JAMB doesn’t match what your institution submitted, it can block listing.
What to do:
- Compare JAMB CAPS details with your institution’s admission letter.
- If different, apply for Correction of Data on the JAMB portal.
6. Admission Mode Issues (Direct Entry / Pre-Degree / Part-Time):
For some candidates who weren’t admitted directly via CAPS (e.g., direct entry, part-time), JAMB may not automatically list you.
What to do:
- Apply for JAMB Regularization / Late Application via JAMB eFacility.
- Complete the process and wait for JAMB approval before re-checking the list.
7. System Errors or Timing Delays:
Occasionally, delays or glitches on JAMB’s system affect list publishing — especially if your institution uploaded lists late.
What to do:
- Wait a few days and re-check.
- Visit a JAMB state office or submit a support ticket if the issue persists.
Step-by-Step Checklist to Resolve “Name Not on List”:
- Confirm Admission Status on CAPS
- Print Both Admission Letter & Result Slip
- Verify with Your Institution’s Admission Office
- Upload/Update O’Level Result (if missing)
- Apply for Correction of Data (if mismatch)
- Do JAMB Regularization (if applicable)
- Re-check the Matriculation List
- Visit a CBT Centre or JAMB Office for Support
Important Timelines to Note:
- Many institutions upload matriculation lists weeks after admissions are offered — so checking too early can show “No record found.”
For NYSC mobilisation, ensure your name is on the list well before camp registration opens.
Why This Matters:
Without being on the JAMB matriculation list:
- NYSC will not mobilise you.
Your admission is treated as not officially recognised by JAMB.
