Over centuries, the growth of agriculture contributed to the rise of civilizations. A foremost concern of man has always been how to secure food.

Early men spent most of their lives searching for food – hunting wild animals and gathering fruits and vegetables to feed themselves.

Agriculture

Seeds which were thrown away after eating fruits later germinated, and people gradually learned how to grow plants. The early men used crude tools, such as sticks and stones, which were used as early hoes and machetes.

The animals which were brought home also mated and produced young ones.

These people later settled to a life based on farming, planting crops, and rearing animals, to ensure their daily supply of food and to feed the community.
