A bird is an animal with a backbone, feathers, and wings for flying. They belong to a family called Aves. They are reared domestically for egg production, meat production, and manure for the use of man.
Their feathers cover their bodies. They have beaks instead of teeth. They have scales that cover their legs, which vary in colour.
