Characteristics of Weeds
(i) Weeds grow fast and dominate the farm rapidly.
(ii) They compete with the crops for water, air, sunlight and soil nutrients.
(iii) They can survive under harsh conditions and under good conditions.
(iv) They are so aggressive and persistent.
(v) They produce fruits and seeds that can be easily carried and spread all over the place by humans, animals, wind and water.
(vi) Weeds can produce a large number of seeds making it easy for them to spread.
(vii) Weeds may attract related crops whose destruction is not intended.
