What are Accident Prevention Techniques?

Accident prevention techniques are methods that should be employed in the workshop to prevent accidents.

Below are some accident prevention techniques;

a. Always work under the supervision of an instructor.

b. Observe all safety rules.

c. Always use safety devices.

d. Sand buckets and fire extinguishers must be placed in a position to arrest any fire outbreak.

e. Use the correct tools for each job. For example use spanners, not pliers, for tightening or loosening nuts and screwdrivers for screws, etc.

f. Worn-out tools, files with loose handles, and broken drill bits should not be used.

g. Tools should be kept in their proper places, in an orderly manner.

h. Machines should be maintained and serviced regularly.

i. Always wear safety kits.

k. Store all equipment and machines properly after use.

l. The workshop should be kept neat and tidy at all times, for example, there should be no trailing wires and cables.
