  • Components of Business Studies

Business studies can be classified into four components, as reflected in the 2012 Basic Education curriculum. They are:

1. Office practice.

2. Commerce.

3. Bookkeeping.

4. Keyboarding.

1. Office Practice:

It is the study of the principles and procedures of operating an office.

2. Commerce:

It deals with trade and other activities that assist trade, such as transport, banking, communication, warehousing, advertisement, insurance, and tourism.

3. Bookkeeping:

It is the systematic recording of business transactions in order to determine, or access the performance of the business.

4. Keyboarding:

It is the art of using the computer, or typewriter keyboard, to produce printed information in a readable form.
