Consumer Education is Important for the following reasons:

1. It guarantees consumers protection.

2. It allows them to make wise decisions in the use of resources at their disposal.

3. They are equipped with market knowledge and skills.

4. It helps them to become critical in analyzing and appraising, advertising, packaging and labelling.

5. It helps them to know their fundamental rights as consumers.

6. It prevents manufacturers from taking consumers for a ride, thereby restoring or according them their respect.

7. It allows them to have value for money for the goods purchased.

8. Consumer education opens the eyes of buyers of goods and services, to seek redress when they are cheated or purchased defective products.

9. It awakens the government to its civic responsibility by playing a regulatory role.
