A family is a group of two or more persons related by birth, marriage or adoption who live together.

Types of Families:
There are two major types of families which have been established by (God according to the Bible), these are:
1. The Nuclear Family.
2. The Extended Family.
Nuclear Family:
The nuclear family is a family group which is made up of a husband, his wife and their children. These children may be born into the family or adopted. The nuclear family is the smallest family unit.
The nuclear family is also called the natural family or the restricted family.

One man and a woman become husband and wife to have (or adopt) children and build a nuclear family. God’s wish for His children is the nuclear family structure.
The nuclear family is the only family structure accepted legally in Westernized countries.
Extended Family:
The extended family is the family group that extends beyond the nuclear family it includes aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
