Service is the action of helping or doing work for someone. Service is doing the work which one is called upon to perform, or volunteers to do without expecting a reward or payment.
In Christianity, Service refers to an act of Christian service. An act of Christian Service is any time spent modelling the attitude of Jesus Christ in service to God’s creation without receiving or expecting a reward or payment.
Service to God’s creation could be service to wildlife, nature, human beings or even our community.
We should perform an act of Christian service to help build up a human being and/or to help our community or the world become a more loving, happier, safer, cleaner, peaceful, and fairer place to live for all living things.
In service, it is still expected that you do the work with all your heart, mind and strength even though you are not being rewarded or paid.
