- Advantages of Windows Over Earlier Operating Systems
1. Windows allows you to open multiple files (many files at the same time) i.e. active windows.
2. It allows you to interact with the computer without having to know DOS commands. (Not cramming or memorizing DOS commands)
3. Windows is more user-friendly than DOS. (easy to use by any user without having any past experiences, and without difficulty.)
4. It has graphics called icons that represent various objects such as files. (Iconic menu.)
5. You do not need to type specific commands before it works. (unlike DOS.)
6. It is a menu-driven user interface. (pull-down menu for MS-DOS.)
7. It is graphics-oriented as well as text-oriented.
