  • Qualities of Good Information

(1) It must be Accurate: Inaccurate information is misinformation. It often contains errors, thus leading to wrong decisions.

(2) It must be Timely: It must be available at the right time it is needed.

(3) It must come from a Reliable Source so that the user of the information can have confidence in it.

(4) It must be Meaningful: It must be expressed in the right form so that the user can understand it.

(5) It must be Comprehensive: (containing all the necessary details)

(6) Relevance: It must be suitable and relevant to its purpose.

(7) It must be expressed in a form that the user of the information can understand.

(8) It must not be costly, otherwise it might be shunned.

High-quality information is characterised by its accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance, and timeliness. While expensive sources might sometimes offer better quality, this is not a guarantee. Good information is also about cost-effectiveness, meaning it should provide more value than it costs to obtain.
