  • Types of Information Based on the Frequency of Occurrence

Information is classified according to the frequency of occurrence and may be communicated

(a) Continuous: Information is constantly or continuously communicated, as in radio or television.

(b) Hourly: Information is communicated every hour, such as a clock chiming or a news hour.

(c) Daily: Information is communicated daily, like a newspaper or daily news broadcast.

(d) Weekly: Information is communicated weekly, like football results, a magazine or a TV series.

(e) Monthly: Information is communicated monthly, like salary information, a bill or a monthly magazine.

(f) Termly/Quarterly: Information is communicated over a three-month period, like a student’s report card or a company’s quarterly report.

(g) Annually: Information is communicated annually, like a company’s budget or an annual report.

(h) Sporadically/Infrequently: Information is communicated irregularly or not at all, like a specific event happening only once a year.
