1. Tile Bar:

2. Ribbon:

The Ribbon and the Quick Access toolbar contain the commands that you need to do common tasks in Microsoft Office Word.

The Ribbon contains seven tabs: Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, and View. The tabs are called Add-ins. Each tab is further organised into groups of related commands. Commands are always housed within a group.

3. Quick Access Toolbar:

The Quick Access Toolbar is located above the Ribbon, and it lets you access common commands no matter which tab you are on. By default, it shows the Save, Undo, and Redo commands. You can add other commands to make it more convenient for you.

To save, you can use Ctrl+S or the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar. To undo an action, press Ctrl+Z, and to redo it, press Ctrl+Y

4. Customise Quick Access Toolbar:

Contains Icons that are shortcuts for several Word commands, e.g. open, print, save, etc.

Note: In the latest versions of Microsoft Word, there is a Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) and the Ribbon, but there is no longer a “Microsoft button” or “Office button.” The Office button has been replaced by the File tab, which is located in the top-left corner of the window. This File tab provides access to the same file-related commands as the older Office button, such as saving, opening, and printing.
