What is a Simile?
A simile is an indirect comparison between two dissimilar things using “as” and “like”.
Examples:
- Ada talks like a parrot.
- Uche ate her food like a wolf.
- He crawled like a snake.
- Timothy is as cunning as a fox.
- He is as dirty as a pig.
- Ndubisi is like a mad dog.
- She is as beautiful as her mother.
- Ariya runs like an antelope.
What is a Metaphor?
Metaphor implies the comparison of two things in a direct manner.
Examples are:
- Bola has a heart of stone.
- Ada is a parrot.
- He is a pig
- You are the salt of life.
- She is a dove
