# Types of Angles

### 1) Acute Angle

An acute angle is an angle, which is less than 90º.

$$\scriptsize \hat{ABC}$$ is an acute angle because it is less than 90º.

Examples of acute angles are: 2º, 45º, 70º, 89º

### 2) Obtuse Angle

An obtuse angle is an angle, which is greater than 90º but less than 180º.

$$\scriptsize \hat{ABC}$$ is an obtuse angle because it is greater than 90º but less than 180º.

Examples of obtuse angles are: 92º, 102º, 140º, 168º.

### 3) Reflex angle

A reflex angle is an angle greater than 180º but less than 360º.

$$\scriptsize \hat{ABC}$$ is a reflex angle because it is greater than 180º.

But less than 360º

Examples of reflex angles are: 186º, 201º, 270º, 269º.

### 4) Right Angle

A right angle is an angle that is equal to 90º. (i.e. a quarter of a turn).

$$\scriptsize \hat{ABC}$$ = 90º
