A bar graph (also called bar chart) is a graphical display of data using bars of different heights.
The bars may be drawn vertically or horizontally. The gaps separating the bars are always equal.
Example: A survey of 100 people asked them “which is the nicest fruit?”
Fruit | People |
Apple | 30 |
Orange | 20 |
Banana | 10 |
Mango | 5 |
Melons | 15 |
Berries | 20 |
Draw a vertical or horizontal bar chart to illustrate the above data.
Nicest Fruits

From the bar chart, it is obvious that the group of people think Apples are the nicest.
