Volleyball Rules

1. All services should be airborne.

2. A server should serve from the baseline.

3. It is a fault if a player touches the net.

4. No player is allowed to carry, catch, lift, scoop or throw the ball. It is a foul.

5. A team is allowed three consecutive touches of the ball before it is returned to the opponent’s court.

6. A service becomes a fault if the served ball touches the net, passes under the net or falls outside the court.

7. The ball must not be held because it is a game of constant motion.

8. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn.

9. A set is won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum lead of 2 points.

10. In the case of a 24 – 24 tie, play is continued until a two-point lead is achieved e.g 25 – 23, 26 – 24, 27 – 25.

11. A match is won by the team that wins three sets.
