There are two types of Social Groups, they are:

1. Primary Social Group.
2. Secondary Social Group

(1) Primary Social Group: 

This is a group in which its members are familiar with one another. They know one another well and have strong attachments. Primary groups include the family, age grades, playmates, kindred, and village community.

African Family
Primary Social Group – African Family.

(2) Secondary Social Group: 

This is a group with a relatively large number of people. They do not have close personal relationships or face-to-face interactions. These groups are usually very goal-oriented. Examples include political parties, clubs, societies, cultural associations, etc.

Apc Members
Secondary Social Group – All Progressive Congress (APC) Members.
