Niger Delta Fishermen

Fish plays a major role in the economic development of the nation.

They include the following;

i. Source of food to the nation.

ii. Employment opportunity.

iii. Scientific research and disease control.

Fish farming, also called, fish culture, culture fishing or mariculture, is the rearing of selected species of fish under scientifically controlled conditions in enclosed bodies of water such as ponds, streams and rivers, where they feed, grow, breed and are harvested for consumption or for sale.

Fish farming can create jobs and generate income for local communities, particularly in rural and coastal areas.
