- Introduction – Effects of Forests on the Environment
Forests can influence the environment in various ways, which include the following;
i. Formation of cloud cover.
ii. Prevent soil erosion.
iii. Help to enrich the soil.
iv. Serve as windbreak which reduces soil erosion which in turn increases crop and livestock yield.
v. Serve as a natural habitat for plant and animal species.
Forests are vitally important for sustaining life on Earth and play a major role in the fight against climate change. They should be conserved and protected. Activities that affect the forests should be reduced.
