Forest vegetation is predominantly found in the Southern part of Nigeria. The following are the types of forests found in Nigeria:
(a) The Swamp Forest Belt – Deltaic Swamp and Coastal Regions:
This forest comprises two sub-belts, they are the Salt Mangrove Swamp Forest and the Freshwater Swamp Forest. This zone is largely occupied by saltwater in a region very close to the seaside and freshwater in the upper part.
