Kinetic theory can be used to explain some processes such as boiling, evaporation, and melting.

1. Boiling:

When a liquid is heated, the particles of the liquid (e.g. water) gain energy, and this additional energy makes the particles move faster than before.

As the particles acquire greater kinetic energy, bubbles of vapour form in the liquid and rise to the surface. At this point, the liquid is said to boil and the temperature at which this happens is called the Boiling Point of the liquid.
