The bisection of a line simply means the division of the line into two equal parts.
The diagram below is the bisection of line AB at line O. In this topic, we are going to show you the steps you need to take to bisectBisect means dividing into two equal parts. It means to divide a geometric figure such as a line, an angle or any other shape into two congruent parts (or two parts... More a line. Steps taken to bisect a Line:
i. Draw a given line of AB = 100 mm

ii. With centre A and a convenient radius that is greater than half of AB (e.g. 70 mm) on your compass, draw arcs above and below the line.



iii. With centre B, draw arcs with the same radius as you used previously to cut the previous arcs, and call the intersection of the arcs C and D respectively.

iv. Join points C and D such that O is the midpoint of line AB

The line CD will bisect the given line AB at O
