- Definition of a Line
- Definition of Line Segment
What is a line?
In geometry, a line can be defined as a straight one-dimensional figure that has no thickness and extends endlessly in both directions.
A line is a long mark that joins two points. It is either straight or curved.
- It has no ends in both directions (infinite)
- It has no thickness
- it is one-dimensional
What is a Line Segment?
- A line segment is part of a line that has defined endpoints
- It has a beginning point and an ending point
Here PQ is a line segment. The endpoints are P and Q.
