Jesus’ Understanding of “Family” (Matthew 12: 46-50)
One day when Jesus was preaching someone came and told him that his mother and brothers were asking to speak to him. Jesus then asked the man who his mother and brothers were.
Stretching his hands out to his disciples, Jesus said:
“Here are my mother and my brothers!
“For whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven is My brother, sister, and mother”.
(Matthew 12: 49-50)
Therefore, the true family of Jesus are;
1. Those who live by God’s law.
2. Those who are obedient respectful, humble, loving, and hardworking.
3. Those who put God first in everything.
4. Those who put their trust, hope, and confidence in God.
5. Those who live a life exhibiting good morals.
6. Those who continue to work on having a good relationship with God.
