The Burial of Jesus (Matt. 27: 57-61)
When the evening came, Joseph of Arimathea, a respected, honoured member of the Jewish council, and also a friend to Jesus, went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus for burial.
On confirmation of Jesus’s death by the centurions to Pilate, he released the body of Jesus to Joseph of Arimathea for burial.
Joseph of Arimathea brought a white linen cloth, took Jesus’ body from the cross, wrapped it and laid him down in his own private rock tomb and secured the entrance with a big stone.

The female disciples, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary were there to see where Jesus was buried.
