Peter denied Jesus because he was afraid of telling the truth, hence he might be killed. Likewise, the following reasons can lead to A Christian’s denial of Christ and His/Her neighbours;

1. Failure to defend the Christian faith when attacked by others.
2. Fear of being persecuted.
3. Fear of being oppressed.
4. Fear of being in an opposition group.
5. Greed for power.
6. Greed for money and position.
7. Quest for bodily and earthly pleasures.
8. Failure to speak the truth for fear of punishment.
9. Fear and refusal to stand up for Jesus by continually sinning.
10. Using the name of God to swear and then proceeding to lie.
