1. Positive power of 10:
To multiply a decimal number by the positive power of 10, move the decimal point by the number of times the power appears to the right e.g.
Worked Example 6.2.1:
Calculate the value of:
a. 2.3 × 106
b. 5.3467 × 102
c. 5.3467 × 101
d. 5.3467 × 103
Solution
a. 2.3 × 106
= 2,300,000
