A cone is made or developed from the sector of a circle. When the sector is folded to develop a cone: 

Circumference of circular base = length of the arc of the sector 

\( \scriptsize 2 \pi r = \normalsize \frac{\theta}{360}\scriptsize \: \times \: 2 \pi l \)

Where r = is the radius of circular base of the cone 

l = Slant height of the cone, which is the radius of the sector the cone was developed from. 

⇒ \( \scriptsize 2 \pi r = \normalsize \frac{\theta}{360}\scriptsize \: \times \: 2 \pi l \)

divide both sides by 2π
