  • Pythagoras Theorem

Pythagoras’ theorem states that; “In a right-angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides”.

Take a look at the right-angled triangle below:  

There is a square on each triangle. The square of the longest side known as the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

Let’s see the proof:

Area of square on AB = 3 × 3 = 9 cm2
