What are Non-communicable Diseases?
Non-communicable diseases are non-infectious or non-transmittable diseases; they are not caused by infectious agents. They can be inherited or as a result of one’s lifestyle.
Affluence is the name given to diseases resulting from lifestyle factors.
They are called chronic diseases (NCDs) because they last for a long period of time (i.e. take a longer time to develop) and progress slowly.
Examples of Non-communicable Diseases:
