- Effects of Lack of Readiness for Marriage Relationship
a. Fighting:
When partners are not ready for marriage, they may find it hard to understand and adjust to each other, which may lead to fighting, arguing, malice, quarrelling, disagreements, etc.
b. Broken Homes:
A broken home simply means a failed marriage either through divorce, desertion, separation or death. Lack of readiness for marriage leads to broken homes due to persistent conflict and lack of tolerance. This results in a breakdown in communication which brings about the separation of the couple.
c. Incompatibility:

Some people are not ready financially to provide for their spouse and children. This will lead to a lot of disagreement when it comes to matters about money, such as rent, food, light, school fees, and other bills. This is a common reason for failed marriages.
e. It may cause Psychological Maladjustment in Children:
Children who grow up in broken homes may see marriage as a scary experience and may avoid getting married in the future.
f. Keeping Malice:
The couple might stop speaking to each other due to a lack of understanding and constant disagreement.
g. Extra Marital Affairs:
If either couple is not getting the attention or satisfaction expected from their home, they might end up having relationships with other people, which may be sexual, financial, etc.
h. Divorce:
Lack of readiness can lead to the total dissolution of the marriage. When a couple can no longer tolerate or cope with each other, divorce becomes the best option.

The stress from the breakdown of a marriage can lead to drug and substance abuse.
