Ways Of Discouraging Drug Abuse

i. Pharmacies and roadside drug stores should not sell drugs to people without doctors’ prescriptions.

ii. The government should provide job opportunities for idle youths who take solace in drugs.

iii. The government should place a ban on the use and sale of illicit/illegal drugs. Also, stiffer penalties should be enforced for offenders.

iv. Youth should be engaged in sporting activities and other useful activities to occupy their free time.

v. More campaigns against drug abuse by the mass media, religious institutions, schools, government, etc.

vi. Formulation of anti-drug abuse clubs in our schools will also reduce the high rate of drug abuse.
