Animal skin is used to package wine.

Packaging plays a major role in preventing agricultural products from contamination and spoilage, and also increases the quality of agricultural products. History has it that men and women of old had been keeping and packaging agricultural products, either for marketing or for preservation, for a long period of time.

Some of such methods are:

  • Use of animal skin to package wine in Israel.
  • Use of local thread to package vegetables.
  • Use of calabash to package palm wine in West Africa.
  • Use of local basket and leaves to package kolanut.
