The two drug control agencies in Nigeria and their activities are:

1. National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)

a. Regulation of quality of food and drugs.

b. Prevention of manufacturing of fake drugs and food.

c. Prevention of importation of fake drugs and food.

d. Creating enlightenment, on the presence of fake drugs, and expired food materials in circulation.

e. Ensure prosecution of offenders, who break the rules and regulations, guiding the manufacturing and sale of processed food materials. 

2. National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)

a. Monitors the movement of hard to illicit drugs, in and out of the country.

b. Ensures that drug barons (sponsors) are apprehended and prosecuted.

c. They are present at every airport and seaport, in Nigeria, and present in all the states of the federation.
