Causes of Desertification
Anything that affects soil nutrients adversely will cause deforestation. Causes of deforestation include;
1. Absence of rain for a long time or Drought.Drought is a very long period of dry weather, which affects soil moisture, leads to the death of vegetation, and the expanse of land.
2. Erosion makes soil lose fertility and therefore supports poor vegetation.
3. Overgrazing by animals.
4. Bush burning.
5. Climate change.
