Electrical energy is the energy produced when electrons move or flow freely through a conductor. It is transmitted from one place to another by means of long cables called Main Lines.

The materials which do not allow electricity to flow through them readily are called Insulators, while those that allow electricity to pass through them easily are called Conductors.
