If two magnets are brought close to each other, they will either attract or repel and this leads us to the laws of magnetism which state that:
1. Like poles repel i.e. a north-seeking pole of one magnet will repel a north-seeking pole of another magnet, similarly a south-seeking pole of one magnet will repel a south-seeking pole of another magnet.
2. Unlike poles attract i.e. a north-seeking pole of a magnet will attract the south-seeking pole of another magnet.
