When a sound wave is incident on a solid or liquid surface, it bounces back into the same medium. This is known as the reflection of sound.

The sound waves of your voice go out until they hit a wall or other surface, after which they bounce back towards you and make an echo.

Sound undergoes reflection from any hard surface such as walls, cliffs, hills, mountains etc.
