  • Meaning of Pottery

What are Ceramics?

Ceramics are non-metallic solids made by the action of heat on clay. They are usually very hard, strong and resistant to water and chemicals.

Ceramics do not conduct electricity, so they are used as insulators or electrical appliances. They can also withstand very high temperatures, which is why they are used to make oven linings and bricks for furnaces.

What is Pottery?

The art of making ceramics and different objects from clay is called pottery. Examples are pots, tiles, sanitary wares, cups, plates, and bricks.
