A0 is the largest size while A1 is half of A0.

A2 is half of A1, while A3 is half of A2 and so on.

Most correspondence in the office these days is produced using A4 paper. During typing, the paper is inserted in portrait position, that is when the shorter side of the paper is at the top or in landscape position when the long side of the paper is at the top.
