What is an Informal Letter?
An informal letter is the type of letter you write to someone you know very well. It is the kind of letter you write to your friends, classmates, and close relations. An informal letter is friendly so you have to make use of everyday conversational language.

Features of an Informal Letter:
An informal letter has the following features:
1. The address of the writer and the date/
2. Greeting – Dear….. plus first name of the receiver e.g. Dear Mary, Dear Daddy,.
3. Pleasantries/Introduction (Reflect the Close relationship).
4. Body/Content of the Letter (Breakdown into paragraphs).
5. Conclusion.
6. Closing/Subscripts. e.g. Yours sincerely followed by your first name.
Note: Yours affectionately, Your cousin, Your daughter is not accepted.
Evaluation: Write a letter to your friend in another state, giving him four reasons why your parents want you to relocate to the United Kingdom.

I thought that an informal letter should have just one address, regardless of the addresse’s location.
What if you are writing to colleagues at work is it a formal or informal letter
What the letter is about will tell if the letter is formal or informal. If the content of the letter is official,then it is formal.
it is actually formal letter because informal letter is sent to friends and family members while formal letter is sent to organisations ,businesses and other work related activities
