- Scale Factor and Area Factor
Example 7.1.1:
A manufacturer made a model of an object to a scale of \( \frac{1}{50}\)of the size of the actual object. The area of the model is 540 cm2. What is the actual area of the object in m2?
Solution
Scale factor = \( \frac{1}{50}\)
Area factor = \( \frac{1^2}{50^2}\\ = \frac{1}{2500}\)
1 : 2500
540 : x
