The density of a substance is defined as the mass per unit volume.

Density   =  \( \frac{Mass}{Volume} \)

The unit is usually given in g/cm3 or kg/m3

Mass  =  \( \scriptsize Density \: \times \: Volume \)

Volume  = \( \frac{Mass}{Density} \)

Example 5.4.1:

Find the density of a material with mass 8 g and volumeĀ 20 cm3
