What is Physical Fitness?

Physical fitness is the ability to carry out daily tasks and routine physical activities without undue fatigue, while still having reserved strength for other emergencies.

It is a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist diseases, and to meet emergency situations.

Generally, physical fitness entails a state of health and wellness. A fit person should be able to perform tasks with more sustainable energy for longer periods than an unfit person.

Physical fitness can be achieved through:

1.  Proper nutrition.

2. Moderate vigorous physical exercises.

3. Sufficient rest.

Components of Physical Fitness:

There are two major components of fitness. They are:

1. Performance or skill-related components.

2. Health-related components.
