These are the machines that farmers use to carry out various activities on the farm to reduce drudgery or tiredness and increase productivity. Farm machines are labour-saving devices. Farm machinery includes various types of machines and implements used on the farm.

Examples of Farm Machines and Implements:

Tractors, Ploughs, Harrows, Ridgers, Cultivators, Planters, Harvesters, Dryers, Shelters, Sprayers, Incubators, Milking machines, Grinders, Mixers, and Threshers.

The tractor is the most important implement or machine on the farm, which is used for operating many farm implements.

Advantages of Farm Machines:

  • Increase in farm size.
  • Increased efficiency of production.
  • Farm work is less tedious and is devoid of drudgery.
  • Farm work is accomplished with speed and is timely.
  • Some operations can be combined into one.
  • Allows human labour to be used for other tasks or occupations.
