What is Agricultural Ecology?

Agricultural Ecology is the study of crop plants and farm animals in relation to their environment.

Branches of Agricultural Ecology:

Autecology: This is the study of an individual organism or a single species of organism and its environment.

Synecology: This is the study of the inter-relationship between groups of organisms or species of organisms living together in an area.

For instance, the study of different fish species in a fish pond in relation to their aquatic environment.

What is an Ecosystem?

An ecosystem refers to a community of crop plants and farm animals functioning together with their non-living environment.
