Vitamins:
Vitamins are food substances which are required by the body in small quantities. They are not energy-providing nor are they body-building foods.
Vitamins that are soluble in water are known as water-soluble vitamins. They cannot be stored in the body but have to be supplied daily in the diets.
Fat-soluble vitamins are soluble in fat and can be stored in the fats of the body.
Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble while vitamins B and C are water soluble.
