Answer:  Excretion is the removal of metabolic wastes from the body of an organism.

 

b. List the excretory organs of the following organisms; amoeba, earthworm, grasshopper, toad, and man.

Answer:

Amoeba – Contractile vacuole

Earthworm – Nephridia

Grasshopper – Malpighian tubules

Toad – Kidney

Man – Skin, Lungs, Kidney

 

c. What is growth?

Answer:  Growth is the irreversible increase in size and dry weight of an organism due to the addition of new protoplasm.
